Tip of the week – Home made energy snack

When headed out to the stand for an all day, or exceptionally long sit, we sometimes forget to take food. I like to take boiled eggs, chopped apples, and a homemade energy snack. This snack is easy to make and you can store them for future hunts by throwing them in the freezer. These are also great for all day scouting trips for quick and sustained energy.

Ingredients:
1 cup (dry) oatmeal (I used old-fashioned oats)
2/3 cup toasted coconut flakes.
1/2 cup peanut butter.
1/2 cup ground flax seeds.
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or vegan chocolate chips)
1/3 cup honey or agave nectar.
1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Add or subtract to your taste.

Tasty!

Roll into balls or small bars and throw them in the freezer to harden. When ready to use throw a few in a ziploc bag and you are ready to go.

Don’t forget water, gotta stay hydrated. – Brannon
